EtherCAT® accessories for connection, power, and synchronization between Dewesoft EtherCAT® data acquisition systems. EtherCAT® power injectors, sync junctions, hubs, and repeaters are indispensable tools for building distributed data acquisition systems. ECAT-POWER-INJECTOR Power injector for the EtherCAT® measurement chain
EtherCAT® data acquisition devices can be easily distributed using a single cable for power, data, and synchronization. Each cable can span up to 100 meters between DAQ nodes.
Since every DAQ device in the EtherCAT® measurement chain consumes power and some power is lost due to the resistance of the cables we need to inject an additional power supply if the measurement chain consists of many data acquisition devices.
A power injector is used to inject additional power into the EtherCAT® measurement chain. It is inserted in the same EtherCAT® measurement chain as other EtherCAT® data acquisition devices. The power injector will inject and supply fresh power for all the DAQ nodes connected after it.
ECAT-POWER-JUNCTION
EtherCAT® power junction boxEtherCAT® power junction device is used to connect any EtherCAT® data acquisition device like KRYPTON or SIRIUS modular with the power supply and PC computer via standard Ethernet cable with RJ45 connector.
Note: If you are using any of Dewesoft processing computers and data loggers like SBOX, KRYPTON CPU, R2DB, R4, R8, R8DB, or MINITAURs you do not require this accessory as the power is provided directly from the mentioned units.
ECAT-SYNC-JUNCTION EtherCAT® synchronization junction box
EtherCAT® synchronization junction box is required when you want to combine and synchronize Dewesoft EtherCAT®-based data acquisition devices (e.g. KRYPTON) with USB-based data acquisition systems (e.g. SIRIUS modular) and connect the system to an external PC.
Note: if you are connecting the above configuration to any of our data processing computers or data acquisition systems like SBOX, R4, R8, MINITAURs, IOLITE rack, then the synchronization junction box is not required, because it is integrated directly in the systems.
ECAT-GPS-JUNCTION EtherCAT® GPS synchronization junction
EtherCAT® GPS synchronization junction device is used similarly to synchronization junction for synchronization between USB and EtherCAT®-based data acquisition devices but by using GPS as a time source.
ECAT GPS junction has a built-in 10 Hz GPS receiver and connector for connecting GPS or IRIG-B-DC time code signal. The devices are synchronized using this time code.
The built-in GPS receiver can also be used for recording positioning information, just like with any other Dewesoft GNSS navigational device.
ECAT-REPEATER EtherCAT® signal repeater
The EtherCAT® signal repeater device is used for the extension of EtherCAT® hybrid cables allowing a maximum connection of two 50 meters long cables. It increases connection stability for distributed EtherCAT systems with distances between measurement units larger than 50 meters.
EtherCAT® repeater is a rugged inline device with an IP67 rating environmental rating and corresponds to the MIL-STD-810D standard. Lemo 1T Series 8-pin male connector on IN port and a female connector on the OUT port.
An example of EtherCAT® repeater usage can be the railway application, where measuring devices are distributed throughout the chain of railroad cars.
DS-HUBe7 EtherCAT® hub/switch
The DS-HUBe7 device is an EtherCAT® hub for connecting up to seven EtherCAT® data acquisition devices (such as KRYPTON or SIRIUS modular). The DS-HUBe7 uses the Beckhoff CU1128 EtherCAT junction.
DS-HUBe7 is a useful accessory for large distributed data acquisition systems with parallel EtherCAT measurement chains.
DS-HUBe7 is built in the same form factor chassis as the SIRIUS modular instruments.
The front panel includes eight standard 8-pin LEMO connectors. The first connector is used for EtherCAT® input (IN) and the other 7 connectors are used for the EtherCAT output (OUT).
The back panel includes two standard 2-pin LEMO connectors for the power supply - PWR-IN and PWR-OUT. PWR IN and PWR OUT are internally shortened. The input voltage for the power supply is 9-36 V DC.
