The PCX-7401 Laser Diode Driver is an innovative unit that features a modern internal trigger source capable of two modes of operation: duty cycle or single shot. The unit offers additional flexibility with an external triggering option. It provides both 3A pulse and 0.55A bias currents at up to 15V compliance voltage.
An innovative, low-inductance stripline cable permits connection to the laser diode and is designed to preserve the fidelity of high-speed current pulses. When the cable is removed, the PCX-7401 is disabled due to the interlocked output connector.
Advanced circuitry protects both the laser diode and the instrument. At turn-on, and at any time the output is not enabled, the PCX-7401’s output is electronically shorted to ground, ensuring that no current flows through the laser diode. The unit includes several safety features such as a separate output enable key switch, an output cable safety interlock, and an external enable control signal.
The front panel controls of the PCX-7401 enable intuitive operation of the unit with color LCD and more. An internal non-volatile memory allows for all system configurations to be stored and recalled. The RS-232, USB or Ethernet computer interfaces are able to be utilized by automated applications.
