-
What if my instrument cannot be calibrated? If your instrument cannot be calibrated due to a failure, we will notify you to discuss the next steps. Depending on the issue, options may include repairing the instrument with us, sending it to the original manufacturer for repair (if applicable), or providing a quote for a replacement.
-
What are the different levels of calibration offered?Certificate of Calibration (Does not include data). Certificate of Calibration with Data (Includes test results). Certificate of Calibration with Data and Uncertainties (Includes test results and measurement uncertainties).
-
Can you recommend a calibration interval for my instrument? We do not prescribe calibration intervals, as they depend on several factors, including frequency and intensity of use, environmental conditions, and the instrument’s historical performance. Components may drift over time due to temperature, humidity, mechanical wear, and vibration, making regular calibration essential for maintaining accuracy. We are happy to assist you in making an informed decision. Contact us for guidance.
-
Where are your calibration laboratories located? We have laboratories located in: United States: 1517 W Carrier Pkwy, Ste 110, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 Canada: 101 Amber St, Unit 18-20, Markham, ON L3R 3B2

Can you provide calibrations calculated at 95% confidence (K=2)?Yes, all our calibrations are calculated at a 95% confidence level.
-
What types of instruments do you calibrate?Stratatek Test & Measurement calibrates and repairs hundreds of types of equipment. Below are the most common types of instruments we calibrate and repair: Electrical/Electronic (DC + LF) Equipment: Multimeters, calibrators, power quality analyzers, power supplies, clamp meters Motor Test Equipment: Surge testers, winding analyzers, and dynamic motor testers Process, Control, and Calibration Equipment: Process Calibrators, temperature calibrators, thermal imagers High Voltage and Substation Equipment: Transformer test equipment, turns ratio testers, winding resistance testers, power factor test sets, HiPot testers Laboratory Standards: Precision resistors, shunts, multifunction calibrators, and 8.5-digit multimeters. For instruments not listed above or for more information, please contact us for assistance.
-
Can I specify test points for my calibration?Yes, you can specify test points. Additional charges may apply depending on the requested points and calibration discipline. If requested points do not cover the instrument’s full function/range, the calibration may be classified as a limited calibration.
-
Is my calibration warrantied for the full calibration interval? No, calibration warranties do not extend through the entire calibration interval, as instrument drift can occur due to usage, environmental conditions, mishandling, or component degradation.
-
If I change my calibration interval, does the price change? No, calibration prices are not affected by the interval selected by the customer.
-
Do you offer NIST-traceable calibration?Yes, all calibrations are traceable to a National Measurement Institute’s (NMI’s) such as NIST (USA), NRC (Canada), PTB (Germany), and NPL (UK).
-
What is the difference between NIST-traceable and ISO17025 accredited calibration?Accredited calibration involves independent validation by an Accreditation Body, ensuring compliance with documented processes and uncertainties. NIST-traceable calibration means measurements are linked to national standards but are not independently verified by an accrediting body.
-
Why should I use an ISO17025 accredited provider instead of just a NIST-traceable calibration?ISO17025 accreditation provides independent validation of calibration processes, ensuring higher confidence in measurement accuracy.
-
What are calibration uncertainties, and why are they important?Uncertainties define how precisely a lab can perform a measurement. Lower uncertainty values indicate greater measurement accuracy.
-
What makes Stratatek Test & Measurement different from other calibration providers? At Stratatek Test & Measurement, we prioritize accuracy, consistency, and customer service. What sets us apart: Standardized Calibration Procedures: All Stratatek labs follow a unified calibration process, ensuring consistency across locations. ISO17025 Accreditation: Our accredited calibrations meet international quality standards with full traceability. Highly Skilled Technicians & Advanced Equipment: Our team uses industry-leading reference standards to provide precise and reliable calibrations. Customer-Centric Approach: We offer flexible turnaround times, pickup and delivery options, and tailored calibration solutions to meet specific needs.
-
Does using an accredited laboratory automatically mean all calibrations are accredited? No, not necessarily. While an accredited lab follows strict quality standards, not all calibrations performed within that lab are accredited. For ISO17025 accredited calibrations, please select this service level. At Stratatek, we ensure that all ISO17025 accredited calibrations comply with regulatory requirements, including traceability and documented uncertainties.
-
Do I need to have my equipment calibrated regularly?Yes, but the frequency depends on multiple factors: Manufacturer-recommended calibration intervals. The instrument’s usage conditions (environment, frequency of use, and application). Historical performance and drift over time. Some companies adjust their calibration intervals based on trend data, either shortening or extending the period between calibrations. The most common frequency is once per year.
-
Do I need documented uncertainties for every accredited calibration?Yes. According to International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) P14, documented uncertainties are required to maintain traceability. This is essential if you: Use the instrument for calibrating other devices. Need to calculate measurement uncertainties for your process.
-
Do you have a price list for calibration services?Due to the wide variety of instruments we calibrate, we do not have a fixed price list. However, we are happy to provide a quote.
